Nothing is made possible without the support of believers.

Many athletes are taking on the challenge to cross the country with LiveGiveSKATE for a few miles, days, weeks, or the ENTIRE journey. Few are skating, many are cycling or running and countless volunteers are supporting our dream of raising money and awareness for Special Olympics.  None of this would be made possible without our Support and Gear team (SAG).

Skaters and Cyclists:

Kacie Fischer
Kacie is a personal trainer, Crossfit Coach, fitness lead at Inline Warehouse, professional tower runner (races up stairwells of skyscrapers), Boston Marathon finisher, inline skater, and extreme endurance athlete.
With a  cousin involved with Special Olympics, she has been able to see the benefits the organization has done for him and his confidence.  The joys of sport, the lessons learned in competition, the love of winning and grace in losing, are all rewards of hard work and dedication, which are shared by all who participate, and Special Olympics makes that possible for so many athletes around the world!

Melinee Fischer
Melinee is a 22 year old construction engineering technology major at Montana State University is a natural in the outdoors! In the summers you can find her in Yellowstone National Park giving tours by horseback, and in the winter as a ski instructor at YellowStone Club.

With a love of adventure and a competitive heart, she has never declined a challenge. Between making High School State Finals after her first 2 months on the dive team, breaking EVERY SINGLE weight lifting record, being the only female on a local ice hockey team and playing a stunt double on Discovery Channel’s “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” as an back country skier, she really has guts of steel.

Kevin Crossman
When Kevin is not at the office working as a real estate investment analyst in Seattle, you will usually catch him in running shoes participating in a weekend 5k or racing up the steps of the tallest skyscrapers in the country. He loves the outdoors and few things excite him like the adrenaline of skiing down the mountain of deep snow or pursing trout with fly rod.  Kevin also really enjoys cooking (a bonus for this trip), sitting down to enjoy a meal with good company and can mix a mean margarita.

Through experience Kevin has seen the positive impact that athletics has played in the lives of people at all ability levels and backgrounds. With this journey Kevin hopes to support the Special Olympics by inspiring others to get involved and improve the lives of disabled athletes everywhere.
